About VMware Workstation Pro
VMware Workstation Pro enables technical professionals to develop, test, demonstrate, and deploy software by running multiple x86-based Windows, Linux, and other operating systems simultaneously on the same PC.
You can replicate the server, desktop, and tablet environments in a virtual machine and allocate multiple processor cores, gigabytes of main memory, and graphics memory for each virtual machine, whether the virtual machine resides on a personal PC or a private enterprise On the cloud.
For more information, see the broader VMware Workstation documentation or, in particular, the VMware Workstation 12 Pro documentation centre.

Known issues
The following issues may occur in this version of VMware Workstation Pro.
The first attempt to import an OVF virtual machine to Workstation Pro failed
When you try to import an Open Virtualized Format (OVF) virtual machine, for example, by selecting File> Open and selecting the .ovf file, the process fails with a message stating that the file failed to pass the appropriate conformance or compliance Sexual inspection. This problem only occurs with the Workstation 12.0 hardware version, and only the .ovf file.
Workaround: Click the Retry button in the dialogue box. The import process is complete.
UAS devices connected to a USB 3.0 port on a Windows 7 or higher host may not be able to successfully connect to the guest
When a UAS device connected to a USB 3.0 port on a Windows 7 or higher host computer is connected to a guest, the device may not be able to successfully connect to the guest. The device may appear as connected in the list of removable devices and can be viewed by selecting Virtual Machine> Removable Device, but the guest operating system might not recognise the device.
Determine whether the device is a UAS device by performing the following steps:
On the host, navigate to the Device Manager dialogue box.
Click View> Connect Devices.
The device is identified by extending the PCI bus and then listing each USB controller.
When the device is found, right-click the device and select Properties.
Select the driver, and then select the driver details
If the driver loaded to the device is pastor.sys, your device is a UAS device
.
Solution:
Shut down the virtual machine.
Add the following entry to the virtual machine's configuration file (virtual-machine-name.vmx) with the default location of C: \ Users \ username \ My Documents \ Virtual Machines:
Usb.generic.keepStreamsEnabled = "FALSE"
Note: This procedure makes the device a USB 3.0 mass storage device, not a UAS device, which may cause a slight performance degradation when reading and write to a device.
In Workstation 12 Pro, the link to download the USB 3.0 driver may not work on certain Linux hosts for Windows 7 or Windows 2008 R2 guests
In this case, when you select Virtual Machine> Settings and then select the USB controller, the Virtual Machine Settings dialogue box displays the following statement:
The USB 3.0 driver for this virtual machine can be downloaded from here.
